Preparing Your Quilt for Longarm Quilting

Backing

  • Make sure backing is square and 4-6 inches larger on all sides of you quilt top

    • If your quilt top is 45x60 the backing should be no smaller than 53x68

  • Press backing flat

  • Pin a note to the top of your backing if you have a directional print or certain way the backing should be oriented

 

Batting

  • Make sure batting is 3-4 inches larger on all sides

    • If your quilt top if 45x60 the batting should be no smaller than 51x66

  • I carry the entire line of Quilters Dream Batting

 

Quilt Top

  • Make sure your top is square

  • Press the top so it lays flat

  • Trim all loose threads

  • Check all seams for gaps and loose stitching

 

Binding

  • Full Binding Services offered for $0.25 per linear inch

    • You supply fabric

    • I will cut, piece, machine attach, and hand stitch binding to the back of your quilt

  • Finishing Prepared Binding offered for $0.15 per linear inch

    • You prepare binding

      • Please use 2.5 inch strips

      • Piece strips on the bias

      • Fold in half and press

    • I will machine attach and hand stitch binding to the back of your quilt

 

Edge to Edge Quilting

$0.025 per square inch

$0.06-$0.11 per square inch

(Average 6-8 Week Turnaround)
